32 Ways to Invite God into Your “Mom Life”
11. READ THE BIBLE EVERY DAY
Start every day with God’s Word. If you need to, set a reminder on your phone. Don’t worry, you don’t need to sit down and read for 30 minutes (although that’s awesome if you can!). Read what you can, even if it’s only a verse or two with a toddler on your hip. Not sure where to begin? Download Faith+Motherhood’s Bible Reading Plan for Busy Moms and read the same verses as other moms in the Faith+Motherhood community.
2. CONFESS YOUR SINS
We all sin. It’s part of being human. Begin your day by recognizing that you will make mistakes today. Tell God you are sorry for the mistakes you made yesterday and start today on a clean slate.
3. ASK FOR FORGIVENESS
Remember those mistakes from yesterday? Ask God to forgive you. Know that you are forgiven and loved. Be confident that God loves you and forgives you no matter what sins you have committed.
4. EXPRESS GRATITUDE
Thank God for all the blessings in your life. If it helps, keep a journal. Write down every thing you are thankful for and say thank you to God.
5. LISTEN TO CHRISTIAN MUSIC IN YOUR HOME
Fill your home with Christian Music. It will set the mood and center your day around Jesus. Here are some great times to listen: getting ready in the morning, playing puzzles on the floor, coloring with your child, doing dishes, folding laundry, etc.
6. ATTEND WORSHIP
This one is a given. If you want to invite Jesus into your life, you need to worship. Find a local church and go every Sunday. I understand it can be challenging. For some encouragement, check out “Why We Go to Church Even Though Our Mornings Look Like This.”
7. JOIN A BIBLE STUDY
Many churches offer Bible Studies, either on Sundays or another time during the week. Join one! This is a great way to grow in your faith and meet others who will encourage you along the way.
8. SET REMINDERS TO PRAY THROUGHOUT THE DAY
It is easy to get wrapped up in errands and child-rearing as a busy mom! Set reminders on your phone to pray. How often do you check social media notifications on your phone? How easy would it be to see prayer notifications also? When you see the notification, stop what you are doing and pray right then. It doesn’t have to be long. Say a simple prayer and continue with your day. You will be surprised how prayer will become a habit!
9. READ BOOKS THAT ENCOURAGE YOUR FAITH
Reading has so many benefits! And, if your kids see you reading then they will be more likely to read themselves. Grab a book that encourages you in your faith!
10. WHILE YOU ARE AT IT, READ A BOOK TO YOUR CHILD
There are so many great children’s books, bibles, and devotionals!
11. PRAY OVER YOUR CHILD
As a mom, you should continually be praying over your child. Here are some examples:
- pray that they would love God
- pray that they would treat others with love and respect
- pray that they would have the courage to stand up for those left out and bullied
- pray that they would seek God’s approval rather than others
- pray that they would choose to do what is right even when it’s hard
While you are at it, pray for your spouse as well!
12. JOIN AN ONLINE BIBLE STUDY
You don’t have to join a group in person to participate in Bible Study. There are so many Bible Study options for you to do online in your pajamas. Although these should never replace in-person Bible Studies, online Bible Study Groups are a great way to enrich your faith. Head over to LifeWay Women- Online Bible Studies to learn more!

When you serve others, you serve Christ. Be a blessing to others and be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world.
15. GIVE AN OFFERING TO THE CHURCH
By giving an offering to the church, you continue Christ’s mission on earth. This offering is often used to support local, regional, and international missions. God tells us to give a tithe (10%) back to the church. When you give the first 10 percent of your income back to God, you are proclaiming that God comes first in your life.
16. MAKE CARDS FOR THE ELDERLY
There is nothing sweeter than handmade cards made by kids. Write encouraging notes on the cards and hand them out at local nursing homes. You will bless others with this loving gesture.

When you surround yourself with friends who follow Christ, you will be encouraged in your faith. These friends will guide you when you go astray and keep you going when things get tough.
18. WRITE DOWN YOUR FAITH STORY
Did you know YOU have a faith story? That’s right! EVERYBODY has a faith story. How did you learn about Jesus? When did you make a conscious choice to be one of His disciples? Were there times when you decided not to follow Jesus? How has this journey of faith impacted your life? Think about how Jesus has weaved His way through your life. Write it down.
19. SHARE YOUR FAITH
Once you know your faith story, you will be more likely to share your faith. It becomes much easier to tell people about your faith when you realize how Jesus has worked in your life. Try talking about your faith to one person each week and grow from there!
20. EXPLORE NATURE
Go outside! See the wonder of God’s work. It is amazing. When you spend time in nature, it is hard to do anything other than thanking God for the beauty of this earth.
How does exercise invite God into your life? It may sound strange, but exercise is a great way to contemplate God’s holiness. Next time you exercise, turn off your music and tune out everything else around you. Instead, pray and listen. Listen to what God is trying to tell you. You will be surprised how much insight can come as you exercise.
